1991 //

Akrapovič and racing have been aligned for decades. The company founder, Igor Akrapovič, used to be a motorcycle racer himself. Our success has been built on the technology and knowledge of the company’s engineers as well as on the close relationship with over 100 racing teams, leading to more than 200 world championship titles having been won. Winning racing bikes and cars, equipped with Akrapovič exhaust systems, can endure all extreme weather conditions – including dust, sand, mud, and heavy rain – and win.

// 1997

Immediately after establishing the Akrapovič Company in 1991, the development of performance exhaust systems for racing teams began; they caught the attention of most of the teams competing in the Pro Superbike Championship in Germany. As a result, first Kawasaki Deutschland and then almost all factory teams in the WorldSBK started to use Akrapovič exhausts. In 1997, Japanese racer Akira Yanagawa (Kawasaki) won an individual WorldSBK race – the first such win with an Akrapovič exhaust system.

2000 //

The year to remember is 2000, when the first WorldSBK Championship title was won by American Colin Edwards on his Castrol Honda SP-01.

// 2008

The 24-hour Nürburgring race was the right venue for confirming the partnership with Manthey-Racing. A Porsche 911 GT3 RSR (997) equipped with an Akrapovič exhaust system won the Nordschleife race in 2008.

2012 //

In road racing, Akrapovič celebrated the first MotoGP title thanks to Jorge Lorenzo and the Yamaha Factory Racing team.

2015 //

In 2015 Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) secured the FIM MotoGP title to mark the moment when the 100th Akrapovič world champion was crowned – a feat that was celebrated when the Spaniard visited the factory and a meeting room was named in his honour.

// 2016

Akrapovič brand ambassador Marco Wittmann took his BMW M4 DTM to the DTM title for the second time in three years.

2019 //

The year 2019 saw the debut of a fully Akrapovič-liveried Audi RS 5 DTM in the DTM series. Akrapovič and Audi were dominant in DTM, with the German manufacturer winning all three titles.

// 2020

Two-wheel success in 2020 saw more world titles for Akrapovič partners, with Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team) leading the way by securing a record-breaking sixth consecutive FIM WorldSBK title.

2021 //

Akrapovič claimed its 150th world champion title as Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jeffrey Herlings secured the FIM Motocross World Championship in the MXGP class. All the titles in the FIM MotoGP World Championship were claimed by riders on Akrapovič-equipped bikes: Pedro Acosta and Remy Gardner (both with Red Bull KTM Ajo) took the Moto3 and Moto2 crowns, and the premier class went to Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP).
